The incumbent, under the supervision of the Manager of the Administrative Support Service Team, is responsible for performing advanced administrative tasks in family law cases, including domestic issues, child support matters, and child in need of assistance (CINA) or termination of parental rights (TPR) proceedings.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To- Processing all cases after scheduled hearings.
- Maintaining inventory control of office supplies.
- Accessing and retrieving case files before and after hearings at the Magistrate's request.
- Reviewing cases after scheduled hearings to ensure orders are accurate, grammatically correct, and consistent with the Magistrate's recommendations.
- Preparing and distributing correspondence, including letters, memorandums, recommendations, orders, and narrative reports.
- Proofreading documents, orders, memorandums, and other written communications for accuracy and completeness.
- Conducting scheduling conferences with litigants to schedule future events.
- Maintaining accurate records of correspondence issued by the Magistrate and related statistical data.
- Scanning reports and documents into an electronic filing system.
- Engaging professionally with judges, magistrates, attorneys, and the public as needed.
- Coordinating with the Office of Calendar Management to schedule family law cases.
- Maintaining the Magistrate's appointment calendar.
- Preparing and submitting the Magistrate's leave requests and timesheets.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Associate's degree in Business Administration and one (1) year of secretarial/administrative experience involving public interaction, office management, and operational details is required. Equivalent combinations of relevant training, education, and experience will also be accepted. Applicants must be proficient in typing where required.
Preferred QualificationsAt least two (2) or more years of court experience.
