The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Management and Distribution Equipment teams in the successful execution of electrical distribution projects. This role serves as a liaison between manufacturers, estimators, project managers, and customers to ensure equipment orders are accurate, complete, and processed efficiently. The Assistant Project Manager helps manage project documentation, submittals, rebates, and order review activities while maintaining a high level of customer service and attention to detail.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Coordinate with Schneider Electric and other manufacturers regarding Special Price Jobs (SPJs), rebates, and project-specific pricing opportunities.
- Assist in tracking, documenting, and resolving rebate and pricing requests to maximize project profitability.
- Partner with Gear Estimators to assemble, review, and distribute switch gear and distribution equipment submittal packages.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and equipment schedules to ensure submittal packages are complete and submitted on time.
- Review approved gear orders to verify a complete and accurate Bill of Material (BOM) is included prior to turnover to the Project Management team.
- Coordinate order turnover activities and communicate project requirements to Gear Project Managers.
- Identify discrepancies, missing materials, or specification conflicts and work with estimators, vendors, and project managers to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including submittals, change notices, pricing approvals, and manufacturer correspondence.
- Assist with order status updates, project reporting, and other administrative project management functions.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, manufacturer representatives, and internal teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate's degree preferred. - 1-3 years of experience in electrical distribution, project support, estimating, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Understanding of switch gear, distribution equipment, and electrical construction projects preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with Eclipse or other ERP platforms is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications, equipment schedules, and bills of material.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across sales, estimating, operations, and project management teams.
