About the Position

The Prince George's County Redevelopment Authority is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Manager
, Real Estate Development (Community Developer
5)
, grade G29 in the Real Estate Development and Special Projects Division.

This is management-level work in which the incumbent plans, administers, and evaluates real estate development programs that support safe, affordable, and sustainable housing and revitalization initiatives for residents. The role supports delivery of high-performance and green building outcomes by coordinating sustainable development elements such as Net Zero strategies, LEED-aligned practices (or Comparable standards), and ENERGY STAR (or equivalent) performance objectives, including electrification/all electric approaches, energy efficiency measures, solar readiness and required documentation/verification.

The incumbent provides key management-level administrative and technical support to the Executive Director. The incumbent provides strategic oversight for major redevelopment initiatives, including program design, budget development, staffing/supervision, and executive and board-level reporting. The incumbent serves as a legislative liaison to County administration; coordinates and executes legislative strategy aligned with agency mission and County priorities. The incumbent leads cross agency coordination with County, State, and federal partners and directs consultants/contractors to deliver complex housing/capital projects while ensuring regulatory and funding compliance.

the Agency

The Redevelopment Authority develops, redevelops, revitalizes and preserves targeted communities with an emphasis on communities within the Beltway in support of the County Executive’s priorities of community development, transit-oriented development, and affordable housing.

  • Manages and monitors contractor/vendor performance for assigned development projects, including quality control, schedule adherence, and close-out coordination.
  • Coordinates construction delivery and permitting/close-out activities for assigned redevelopment and housing projects, including schedule tracking, field coordination, inspections, punch list management, grading/building close-outs, and Use & Occupancy issuance.
  • Resolves issues with County agencies, contractors, and consultants to maintain project timeliness.
  • Coordinates implementation of high-performance/sustainable requirements (Net Zero, LEED-aligned, ENERGY STAR, objectives), including maintaining documentation needed for program and project files.
  • Serves as a liaison with the County administration and external stakeholders.
  • Prepares briefings and supports deadlines related to program initiatives and the County’s mission and priorities.
  • Prepares briefings on legislative initiatives and ensures leadership remains informed of any associated legislative deadlines.
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Services, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of responsible community development work experience with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered.

Please note there is no equivalency for supervisory experience.
