Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Travel Contract | Upper Marlboro, MD (Travel RN)

Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) opportunity — 13-week travel contract in Upper Marlboro, MD at a Level II Trauma Center. Join a dynamic perioperative team providing advanced surgical care to adult and geriatric patients in Prince George's County, just outside Washington, D.C.

Job Details – OR RN / Travel RN
  • Location: Upper Marlboro, MD 20774 (Prince George's County; Washington, D.C. metro area)
  • Setting: Level II Trauma Center – Operating Room (CVOR & General OR)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: March 23, 2026
  • Shift: 4x10-hour mid shifts (13:30 – 00:00)
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,270 - $2,400
  • On-Call: 10–15 on-call shifts per contract (weekdays and weekends required)
  • Floating: Required within specialty and to sister campus as needed
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1
  • Patient Age Range: Adult / Geriatric
Job Requirements – Operating Room Nurse / Perioperative Nurse
  • Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license (must be active at time of submission)
  • BLS (AHA required); ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience (3 years preferred; strong 2-year candidates considered)
  • Perioperative experience circulating and scrubbing in general OR and robotics cases (Da Vinci, Mako, Monarch, etc.)
  • Experience with trauma, ortho, neuro, plastics, gyn, endo, ENT, thoracic, vascular, and cardiovascular cases
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Ability to float within the OR and to sister campus as needed
  • Willingness to work holidays and weekends as scheduled; participation in on-call rotation required
  • First-time travel nurses accepted with strong OR and robotics experience
  • Two satisfactory professional references required
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Responsibilities – Surgical Nurse / CVOR RN
  • Provide safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care to surgical patients in a fast-paced OR environment
  • Circulate and scrub for a wide range of surgical procedures, including trauma, cardiovascular, orthopedic, neuro, plastics, gynecology, ENT, and robotics
  • Participate in on-call rotation, including weekday and 24-hour weekend shifts
  • Float to general OR and sister campus as needed to support patient care and staffing
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including anesthesia, IV therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and adhere to hospital protocols and universal safety procedures
  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and professionalism in a dynamic surgical setting
