Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care. The nurse will care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery including CABG and valve procedures. The patient population may include those with conditions such as STEMI, NSTEMI, AFIB with RVR, and cardiogenic shock. Vascular and thoracic cases will also be managed, including peripheral bypasses and EVAR procedures. Nurses will be responsible for managing post-operative care and ventilator management with respiratory therapy.
Floating to sister units and lower acuity areas may be required as needed. This role includes participation in holiday coverage and every other weekend shifts. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in critical care skills such as titration of vasopressors and management of complex patient conditions. Strong interpretation of dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases is essential. Experience with various monitoring systems and emergency medication protocols is preferred.
