Service Technician - Power Quality, Infrared Scanning & Air Leak Detection
Electrical Distributor - Customer Facility Services
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to perform power quality monitoring, infrared (IR) thermographic inspections, and compressed air leak detection for our customers' facilities. This role supports preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, energy efficiency analysis, and equipment performance evaluations. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct power quality studies using monitoring equipment to diagnose voltage irregularities, harmonics, load issues, and equipment performance problems.
- Perform infrared (IR) thermal scans of electrical equipment to identify hot spots, loose connections, and failure risks.
- Carry out air leak detection surveys in industrial and commercial facilities to support energy reduction initiatives.
- Document findings, prepare detailed service reports, and communicate results to customers and internal teams.
- Work closely with sales, operations, and supplier partners to support corrective actions and followup recommendations.
- Maintain service equipment, ensure calibration accuracy, and follow all safety protocols and facility requirements.
- Travel to customer locations across the region as needed and maintain job scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Experience with electrical testing, preventive maintenance, industrial service work, or facility inspections.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, distribution equipment, and safety practices.
- Familiarity with power quality analyzers, infrared cameras, or ultrasonic leak detection tools (training provided if needed).
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to interpret field data.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in industrial and commercial environments.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
- Level I or II Infrared Thermography Certification (e.g., ITC, ASNT).
- Electrical or mechanical maintenance certifications.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
Location:
- This role may be based remotely or in a regional office, with travel required to meet partners and attend industry events. Territory will include Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia.
