The bookkeeper position creates financial transactions and generates reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. The bookkeeper also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy.
Job Summary:The Bookkeeping Clerk will work closely with accountants, financial managers, and other members of the finance team to ensure the financial health of the organization. Must have strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and basic mathematical proficiency. Additionally, proficiency in Quick Books and computer applications is essential in this role.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Records numerical and financial data to produce financial records.
- Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately into Quick Books.
- Journal entries to debit and credit the company’s accounts.
- Credit/bank reconciliations for all companies.
- Generates accounting and audit reports for accounts payable and receivable, expenditures, and profits and losses.
- Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records for all companies.
- Generate weekly financial reports for President.
- Process company checks for all financial needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
- Ability to use Quick Books to record, store, and analyze financial data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (excel) or similar software.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s degree with accounting coursework preferred. - Previous bookkeeping experience required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
