Staff Accountant (3-Month Contract)

Duration: 3-Month Contract with Potential for Temp-to-Hire
About the OpportunityWe are partnering with a well-established dealership in Greeley to identify a sharp, professional Staff Accountant for a three-month engagement. This individual will play a key role in cleaning up accounting processes, supporting the month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. While this position is initially structured as a three-month contract, there is potential for it to transition into a permanent opportunity based on business needs and performance.
This is an onsite role offering a collaborative, welcoming culture and a manager who values work-life balance by providing flexibility with start and end times within reason.
Responsibilities- Perform Quick Books Online cleanup and assist with improving the accuracy of accounting records.
- Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements.
- Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Partner with leadership on various ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements.
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure adherence to accounting best practices.
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Commiserate experience in place of a degree is fine!
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a Staff Accountant or similar role.
- Any large ERP systems experience accepted!
- vlook ups, pivot tables, x look ups will be used regularly in this role.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
