PositionDescription
Paralegals support the delivery of quality legal services to management and clients by providing administrative assistance to corporate counsel and human resources. General responsibility for a variety of complex administrative tasks, including the management of legal billing, document retention, and retrieval.
Essential DutiesResearches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
Assists with the preparation and drafting of contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, insurance, employment, and related matters.
Under the direct supervision of corporate counsel, helps with preparing legal documents. This includes maintaining a system for draft documents, litigation discovery, leave administration, and employee separations. May also record Legal Department meeting minutes and agendas.
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, such as updating form letters, editing documents, copying, filing, scanning, and document management.
Establishes priorities and maintains good interpersonal relations and communications with a wide variety of individuals and groups, including in‑house and outside lawyers, support staff, regional employees, human resources, and corporate executives.
Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities- Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Strong sense of integrity and firm understanding of confidentiality.
- Must be able to prepare complex documents and compose correspondence.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to prioritize tasks when faced with multiple deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook).
- Light Work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.
- Walking – The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.
- Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas.
- Constantly reads written communications and views email submissions.
- The person in this position regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen.
- Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.
- Rarely exposed to high and low temperatures.
- Rarely exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
Base Salary Range: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 USD, Annually.
Salary Range: $60,000–$75,000.
