The actual offer extended will be based on your years of relevant experience, education, certifications and potentially other factors.

Job Summary

The Management Analyst is a one-year term professional position within the Department of Innovation and High Performance designed to provide early-career professionals with meaningful experience in local government. This role supports analytical, research, and organizational improvement projects across the organization, while also assisting with initiatives related to project management, performance improvement, and strategic priorities. Working under general supervision, the Management Analyst conducts research, analyzes data, develops recommendations, prepares reports and presentations, and supports cross‑departmental projects that advance operational effectiveness and high‑performance government practices.

Experience

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, business administration, organizational leadership, data analytics, political science, economics, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or candidate graduating within the current academic term.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license

OR

Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in public administration, public policy, business administration, organizational leadership, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Internship, fellowship, capstone, or other applied experience in local government, public service, performance improvement, research, or data analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of public administration, management analysis, performance measurement, and continuous improvement principles in a local government environment.
  • Knowledge of basic business process improvement methods and the ability to apply them to operational and service delivery challenges.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data and other information to support decision‑making, performance reporting, and organizational improvement efforts.
  • Ability to evaluate processes, identify root causes, and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer or community outcomes.
  • Ability to support and coordinate projects, process improvement efforts, and special initiatives involving multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Skill in preparing concise reports, presentations, and recommendations for supervisors, leadership teams, and operational partners.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate successfully in a team‑oriented, cross‑functional environment.
