Tribal & Indigenous Engagement Fellow

We are seeking an early‑career professional to support the Tribal & Indigenous Engagement Program as part of the Colorado Conservation Fellowship. This full‑time, 2‑year role (35 hours per week) starts September 2026.

• Coordinate administrative tasks and logistics for meetings, events, and program activities.
• Track budgets, process forms, and maintain data and reports.
• Manage project timelines, document procedures, and respond to inquiries.
• Communicate on behalf of supervisors with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, donors, vendors, and businesses.
• Assist in networking, mentorship, and professional development initiatives.
• Support travel arrangements and on‑site program delivery in Colorado.

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Experience living and/or working with Indigenous communities.
• Experience coordinating multiple simultaneous projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Ability to stay organized, complete tasks independently, and manage timelines.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.

• Understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, perspectives, and relationships.
• Genuine interest in a conservation career.
• Experience building positive relationships with new partners, including Tribal and Indigenous communities.
• Analytical skills for preparing reports and coordinating activities.
• Attention to detail while remaining outcome‑driven.
• Research skills and ability to write/edit program communication materials.
• Database management skills and report generation.
• Excellent customer service focus.
• Relevant coursework or related experience in a relevant field.
• Strong organizational skills.

• Must comply with The Nature Conservancy’s Auto Safety Program and Vehicle Use Agreement, including safe travel practices.

The pay range is $29–$30 per hour for U.S. candidates; compensation is determined by location, qualifications, and experience.
