General Statement of Job Function

The Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing institutional events through which Denver Seminary engages its public. This role supports signature programming, presidential and donor cultivation gatherings, and Advancement events that serve a broad range of audiences — including church leaders, cultural practitioners, and community members. For many guests, these events represent their first sustained encounter with the Seminary.

The standard of hospitality, production, and follow-through this role sets is the standard the institution is known by.

This role is ideal for a highly organized, collaborative, and mission-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills, proven event management experience, and the ability to work effectively across multiple institutional departments.

Essential Functions
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a full range of institutional events, from large-scale signature programming and presidential cultivation gatherings to recurring community events and smaller monthly programming.
  • Manage all logistical components including venue selection, vendor contracting, A/V and production needs, registration, staffing, and on-site execution.
  • Maintain a master event calendar and develop comprehensive project plans with timelines and milestones aligned to institutional priorities.
  • Administer event budgets in compliance with institutional financial guidelines, including ongoing tracking, invoice reconciliation, and payment processing.
  • Serve as the primary events liaison across departments, facilitating regular planning sessions, navigating competing priorities, and ensuring clear communication among all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of event-related communications, including invitations, promotional materials, and follow-up messaging, in close partnership with the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Set and uphold the standard of hospitality through which guests experience the Seminary, with particular attention to first-time attendees and those outside the Seminary’s traditional networks.
  • Coordinate volunteers, student workers, and faculty hosts to create a welcoming atmosphere conducive to meaningful engagement.
  • Conduct post-event evaluation and report outcomes to leadership to inform future programming decisions.
  • Develop and steward an annual event portfolio that strengthens relationships with donors, alumni, and ministry partners while establishing the Young Center as a serious convenor of consequential conversations in post-Christian Colorado.
Education/Training
  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in event coordination, project management, or a related field required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing events of varying scale, from small recurring programming to large institutional events.graduation.

  • Agreement with Denver Seminary’s full Statement of Faith and Statement on Human Sexuality.
  • Highly organized self-starter with strong initiative and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Adaptable and flexible; able to manage competing priorities and shifting timelines with professionalism.
  • Creative, resourceful, and discreet; able to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work across multiple departments and organizational stakeholders.
