About the Role:
We believe every team member plays a critical role in our mission to deliver outstanding care and service to our residents. The Assistant Director of Environmental Services supports the Director of Environmental Services in planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operations of the facility's Environmental Services department, including housekeeping and laundry. This position helps ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly condition in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures, in order to support a comfortable and dignified living environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help supervise, schedule, and train housekeeping/laundry staff, including coverage across all shifts
- Ensure linens and resident laundry are handled promptly and properly
- Oversee safe use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE per safety standards
- Support infection control, sanitation, and regulatory compliance efforts
- Conduct rounds/inspections and help maintain survey readiness
- Manage supply inventory and vendor coordination
- Respond to resident, family, and staff requests with professionalism
- Assist with performance management, coaching, and evaluations
- Jump in on hands-on housekeeping/laundry duties as needed
- Support survey, audit, and inspection preparation

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 D,O,E.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in environmental services, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in housekeeping, laundry, or environmental services required; experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of infection control principles, cleaning and sanitation standards, and safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Familiarity with applicable federal and state long-term care regulations preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to train, direct, and motivate staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
