Position Summary:
The History Department at the University of Northern Colorado invites applications for a tenure-track, endowed assistant professorship in history and secondary education, beginning in August 2026.
Job Duties:
The 3-3 teaching load includes courses in our Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP), a U.S. history survey, upper-division and graduate classes, and an Advanced Overview of American History designed primarily for STEP students. Service includes academic advising for history majors and student teacher observations. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to training future educators and have an active, innovative research agenda.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in U.S. history
* Secondary teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Preference will be given to candidates prepared to teach African American history
