Position Summary:

Temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in the Department of Chicana/o and Latinx Studies (CLAS). Online and face-to-face teaching opportunities may be available in Chicana/o Studies, Latinx Studies, or CLD Education.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

* Master's or doctoral degree in the humanities, social sciences, education, or a related field; and at least one of the following:
Substantial graduate-level academic coursework and/or methodological training in Chicana/o, Mexican American, Latina/o/x Studies, or closely related areas (e.g., education, cultural studies, history, sociology, literature, politics, anthropology, archaeology, art, etc.); or a demonstrated record of research, creative activity, scholarship, or teaching experience in Mexican American Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Latinx Studies, Ethnic Studies, or related fields:

* A bachelor's degree in Chicana/o, Latina/o/x, Mexican American Studies, Ethnic Studies, or a related field with an emphasis on Latina/o/x Studies; and at least two years of involvement with student organizations or programs that serve and positively impact the educational experiences of Latina/o/x students or similar populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Doctoral degree in Mexican American Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Latinx Studies, Ethnic Studies, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education, or a closely related field with an emphasis on Latina/o/x Studies.

* Demonstrated record of successful college-level teaching experience.

* One or more semesters of online teaching experience (for positions involving online instruction).

* Experience using Canvas and video-conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams) is highly desirable.

Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spousesof UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%.

These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
