Position Summary:
The College of Osteopathic Medicine is establishing a pool of Technical Professionals (Tech Pros) to support early-stage academic and curricular development in advance of faculty contract start dates. Individuals in this role will contribute subject matter expertise and academic planning support across multiple disciplines within osteopathic medical education. This is a temporary, project-based position designed to facilitate foundational work related to curriculum design, course development, and program planning.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities may vary depending on discipline and assignment but may include:
Collaborating with academic leadership to develop and refine curriculum content within assigned discipline(s)
Designing course materials, learning objectives, and assessment strategies aligned with accreditation standards (e.g., Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation)
Assisting in mapping curriculum to competencies and program outcomes
Participate in department meetings, committee meetings, curriculum work groups, and other collaborative planning activities as assigned
Developing instructional materials, syllabi, and educational resources
Providing subject matter expertise to support program development initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
* Doctoral or terminal degree (e.g., DO, MD, PhD) in a relevant field
* Demonstrated expertise in a discipline aligned with medical or health professions education
* Experience in teaching, curriculum development, or academic program design
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience in undergraduate or graduate medical education
* Familiarity with osteopathic medical education principles and accreditation standards
* Experience developing competency-based or integrated curricula
Additional Information
This posting is intended to establish a pool of qualified candidates to support the College of Osteopathic Medicine's curriculum development efforts prior to the official faculty appointment period.
While all qualified applicants are welcome to apply, candidates will typically be identified through prior engagement, recruitment processes, or direct outreach aligned with the College's academic planning needs. Appointment level and compensation will be determined based on assigned responsibilities and expected workload.

Employees at UNC receive sick leave, and other leave options may be available based on position. Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%.
These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
