Job Summary: Provide an enriched learning environment in which students develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become mature, capable, and responsible members of society. Facilitate and guide the academic, emotional, and psychological growth of students, reporting to the School Principal and Department Director as assigned.

Salary: Salary placement is based on the Certified Salary schedule and is dependent on the employee’s education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees receive one year of placement for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of 10 years, including in‑district and out‑of‑district experience.

Education/Experience –
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Colorado Teaching License
Education/Experience – Preferred:
- Experience in a related field
- Bilingual ability
Essential Functions:
- Plan individualized education programs meeting student needs, interests, and abilities.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
- Maintain discipline and classroom control aligned with school and county policies.
- Ensure sufficient supervision for student health, welfare, and safety.
- Guide learning toward curriculum standards, establish clear objectives, and communicate them to students.
- Employ appropriate instructional methods and materials.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide required progress reports.
- Diagnose student learning abilities and seek assistance from district specialists when needed.
- Counsel students, colleagues, and parents as appropriate.
- Assist in implementing school policies and developing reasonable classroom rules.
- Supervise instructional assistants and coordinate with department heads.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Use instructional techniques and media to meet the needs of individual or group learners.
- Advocate the district’s philosophy of education and instructional standards.
- Respect students’ personal spaces and implement IEP plans while preserving academic time.
- Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
- Be available to students and parents for educational matters outside instructional hours when reasonable.
- Collaborate with staff on instructional planning.
- Select books, equipment, and other instructional materials as needed.
- Participate in co‑curricular activities as assigned.
- Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems promptly.
- Model non‑discriminatory practices in all activities.
- Comply with school and division regulations and policies.
- Maintain open communication with students and parents on academic and behavioral progress.
- Pursue professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework.
- Perform other duties assigned by school administrators as required by policy.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
Additional Qualifications: Ability to follow oral and written directions, establish effective working relationships with staff and students, maintain classroom management strategies, and demonstrate visual, auditory, and ambulatory aptitude. Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict management, and organizational skills; empathetic and positive relationship builder. Sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role.
