Education and Experience
  • Required:
    • Educational Specialist degree or doctorate in School Psychology.
    • Licensed in Colorado or in process of obtaining Colorado licensure as a Psychologist from Colorado Department of Education.
    • Successful completion of CPI training.
  • Preferred:
    • Nationally-Certified School Psychologist.
    • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish.
Job Description

Provide psychological services to students under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) at all tiers. Support district-wide projects and supervise psychological services, other specialized service providers, and professional consulting services across the district.

Essential Functions
  • Implements and coordinates an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for students identified by IDEA.
  • Promotes student functional independence or participation within the educational environment by:
    • Improving, developing or restoring functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation.
    • Improving ability to perform tasks for independent functioning if functions are impaired or lost.
    • Preventing further loss of function through early intervention.
  • Provides direct and indirect services based on an established program tailored to individual student educational needs.
  • Communicates and supervises team members and family/caregivers.
  • Provides professional development to staff.
  • Maintains, completes and processes records and documents required by Weld County School District 6.
  • Follows the policies and procedures established by Weld County School District 6.
  • Continually improves professional qualifications by participating in staff development offered by the district and at the state level.

Includes any duties not listed above. Regular attendance is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Ability to sit for long periods, cope with numerous distractions, maintain visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
