Anticipated July 30th for the  School Year
Position Type:
Full-time, 169 days per year

Salary:
Pay for this position is determined by the 169-day Teacher Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Salary Range $45,186-$77,720.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor Degree or higher.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with a Secondary Science and Secondary Math endorsement (or immediate eligibility to apply).
  • Successful completion of the Middle School Math and Science Praxis exams
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
  • Strong knowledge of 7–8 Mathematics curriculum and Science standards with the ability to implement varied instructional strategies and literacy development across all levels.
  • Teachers of Record or Residency Teachers are eligible to apply.
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment for students with a strong understanding of Choice Theory.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strength in varied instructional strategies in both Math and Science and awareness of computer application uses in curriculum.
  • Understanding of standards and various assessment applications.
  • Ability to provide assessments and intervention for students with performance concerns.
  • Ability to establish a strong rapport with students, parents, and staff.
  • Possess skills to be able to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively, such as learning Management Systems, Schoology.
  • Ability to sponsor or coach a variety of activities/athletics is an asset.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, speak and listen to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Integrity, trust and work ethic to be able to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to perform light lifting and moving of product (up to 50lbs).
  • Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of district data.
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
  • Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities

Teachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure the success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community. Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards, elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility. A teacher’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards:
