Job SummarySupervise student conduct, provide instruction to individuals and small groups, support school-wide assessment, and perform clerical tasks. Work with students and technology to deliver curriculum and assist with lesson planning.
Essential Functions- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce instructional material planned and/or presented by the classroom teacher; assist with computer assignments and classroom activities; provide support for students' access to the curriculum (e.g., note taking, reading, assistive technology).
- Instruct small groups in assigned content areas in alignment with in‑building or in‑district training.
- Administer selected assessments in alignment with in‑building or in‑district training.
- Administer tests and other assignments as assigned.
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, laminating, record keeping, data entry, filing, cutting and pasting.
- Interact with technology for data entry and instruction, including hardware and software such as interactive whiteboards, document cameras, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web‑based systems.
- Monitor students before, during and after school, on the playground and in the cafeteria; implement the school’s PBIS.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Allocate 90% of time spent with students.
- Assist with lesson plans.
- Maintain the ability to sit for long periods, tolerate distractions, and possess visual, auditory, and ambulatory acuity.
- Move quickly between positions in response to student needs and lift and carry up to 50 lbs with upper‑body strength.
- AA degree preferred or 48 semester hours of approved college credit; or passing scores on the Work Keys exam.
- Experience in a related field (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of computer data entry, office procedures, reading, arithmetic, grammar, and spelling.
- Effective communication skills with students and district staff.
- Willingness to learn assistive technology software.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, lift/carry up to 50 lbs, and move quickly as required.
