Salary

Salary placement on Certified Salary schedule is dependent on employees' education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years.

Education/Experience

Required:

Bachelor's Degree, Colorado Teaching License.

Preferred:
Experience in a related field, Bilingual.

Job Description

Summary/Objective:
Provide an enriched atmosphere for learning and development, facilitating student growth and collaborating with school leadership.

Essential Functions
  • Plan program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Create a conducive classroom environment appropriate for student maturity and interests.
  • Maintain discipline and classroom control fostering a safe and positive environment for all students and staff.
  • Ensure adequate supervision to guarantee health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Guide the learning process toward curriculum standards, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, projects, and communicating these objectives.
  • Use instructional methods and materials most appropriate for stated objectives and standards.
  • Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required.
  • Diagnose learning abilities of students and seek assistance of district specialists as needed.
  • Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
  • Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life, developing reasonable classroom behavior procedures, and maintaining order fairly.
  • Plan and supervise assignments for instructional assistants or volunteers, working cooperatively with department heads.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
  • Strive to implement district philosophy of education and instructional standards.
  • Respect students’ personal spaces throughout the day.
  • Implement students’ IEP plans while ensuring academic time integrity and motivating participation.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by law, policy, and regulation.
  • Provide availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional day when required.
  • Cooperate with staff to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Accept co‑curricular responsibilities as assigned.
  • Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Report student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems promptly.
  • Model non‑discriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies.
  • Maintain open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  • Support personal professional growth through ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
Additional Qualifications

Must be able to follow oral and written directions, establish effective working relationships, maintain classroom management strategies, demonstrate visual, auditory, and ambulatory ability, possess excellent communication skills, conflict management, strong organization, empathy, positive relationship building, and sufficient knowledge to perform the functions of the position.

Other Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of Colorado and district content standards; sufficient skills to perform duties; preference for leadership in student social/emotional/academic needs; preference for flexible, stress‑tolerant, quick decision‑making environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Ability to sit for long periods, manage distractions, visual/auditory/ambulatory acuity required; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
