Pomona opened its doors in 1974 and since then has continued to build a strong community with a history of spirit, pride, and tradition. Starting in the school year, after 50 years of excellence, Pomona will transition into a Junior/Senior High School serving students in grades 6 through twelve. As we have in the past, Pomona students will continue to be both challenged and supported academically and as young adults.
At the High School level, we offer a wide range of Advanced Placement and Concurrent Credit courses not only in our core academic classes, but also in our exploratory and elective classes.
At the Junior High School level (6th through 8th grade), Pomona offers strong academic classes in a smaller setting, while also offering robust exploratory classes in all areas. Students in the 8th grade also have the unique opportunity of taking high school classes and earning graduation credits in some.
The Panther community supports our athletic teams and Humanities programs with a commitment to excellence. At Pomona, our students are able to explore areas of interest, access rigorous academics and learning, and apply this knowledge in real‑world situations.
About YouPomona Jr./Sr. High School is a 6th grade through 12th grade community. As such teachers have the opportunity to teach grades 6th through 12th.
This position will primarily teach grades 6th and 7th for the 2026‑2027 school year.

ResponsibilitiesSummary:
Responsible for the delivery of specified course content. Responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success.
- Orient students to their coursework and communicate course requirements.
- Employ asynchronous and synchronous tools to supplement course content.
- Create and deliver live and recorded instructional sessions.
- Maintain regular office hours to provide students or parents one‑on‑one and small group support.
- Augment course content in the form of remediation, modification, and enrichment.
- Partner with special education staff to implement students’ IEPs, ALPs and 504s.
- Set deadlines for student work and grant extensions.
- Attend face‑to‑face meetings with students and parent/guardian, as scheduled.
- Grade student work, enter grades into an online gradebook, and provide course grade.
- Communicate with parents as needed.
- Collaborate with other instructional staff.
- Administer school‑wide assessments including CSAP, ACT, and Acuity.
- Conduct student/parent/teacher conferences.
