Position SummaryTemporary, part-time adjunct faculty in the Department of Chicana/o and Latinx Studies (CLAS). Online and face-to-face teaching opportunities may be available in Chicana/o Studies, Latinx Studies, or CLD Education.
Minimum QualificationsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Master's or doctoral degree in the humanities, social sciences, education, or a related field; and at least one of the following: substantial graduate-level academic coursework and/or methodological training in Chicana/o, Mexican American, Latina/o/x Studies, or closely related areas (e.g., education, cultural studies, history, sociology, literature, politics, anthropology, archaeology, art, etc.); or a demonstrated record of research, creative activity, scholarship, or teaching experience in Mexican American Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Latinx Studies, Ethnic Studies, or related fields
- A bachelor's degree in Chicana/o, Latina/o/x, Mexican American Studies, Ethnic Studies, or a related field with an emphasis on Latina/o/x Studies; and at least two years of involvement with student organizations or programs that serve and positively impact the educational experiences of Latina/o/x students or similar populations.
- Doctoral degree in Mexican American Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Latinx Studies, Ethnic Studies, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education, or a closely related field with an emphasis on Latina/o/x Studies.
- Demonstrated record of successful college-level teaching experience.
- One or more semesters of online teaching experience (for positions involving online instruction).
- Experience using Canvas and video-conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams) is highly desirable.
