Position: Spanish Teacher, Greeley West High School (2026-2027 School Year)

Position Type: Secondary School Teaching / World Language – Spanish

Contract Length/Days: 190 Days (2026‑2027)

Salary: Salary placement is based on education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees receive one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience, up to a maximum of ten (10) years, including in‑district and out‑of‑district experience.

Paid Leave: Article VII of the Master Contract provides leave options for certified staff, including sick and discretionary leave.

Essential Functions
  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity.
  • Maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff.
  • Ensure adequate supervision to protect the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Guide learning toward achievement of curriculum standards, set clear objectives, and communicate them to students.
  • Use instructional methods and materials most appropriate for achieving stated objectives and standards.
  • Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required.
  • Diagnose learning abilities regularly and seek assistance from district specialists when needed.
  • Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
  • Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
  • Develop reasonable classroom behavior rules and procedures while maintaining order fairly.
  • Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for instructional assistants or volunteers, collaborating with department heads.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs of individual or group students.
  • Strive to implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional standards.
  • Respect students' personal spaces throughout the day.
  • Implement students' IEP plans, ensuring academic time integrity and motivating participation.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.
  • Be available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional hours when required.
  • Cooperate with staff to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  • Share responsibility for co‑curricular activities as assigned.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems promptly.
  • Model non‑discriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by building administrators in accordance with policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  • Colorado teaching license.
  • Experience in a related field (preferred).
  • Bilingual ability (preferred).
  • Capability to follow oral and written directions and establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
  • Strong classroom management strategies.
  • Visual, auditory, and ambulatory proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Empathy and positive relationship building.
  • Knowledge of Colorado and district content standards.
  • Capability to perform all duties essential to the position.
