Instructional Assistant (2 Positions), Meeker Elementary School

Classification: Non‑Exempt

Salary: $19.26 per hour plus benefits. Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recent Greeley‑Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $30.86 per hour plus benefits.

Contract Length/Days: (2026‑2027/182 days)

Education / Experience

Required:

  • AA degree or 48 semester hours
  • Passing scores on Work Keys exams (Applied Math, Workplace Documents and Business Writing). A score of 4 or higher is required for Math and Workplace Documents and a 3 or higher for Business Writing.
Preferred
  • CPI training (training provided)
  • CPR/First Aid (training provided)
Summary / Objective

Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Responsible to the building principal and department director where assigned.

Essential Job Functions
  • Support the academic programming and progress of individual students and/or small groups with identified significant needs.
  • Provide student‑specific personal care and support.
  • Assist with daily classroom activities, data collection, sanitizing equipment and materials, and support staff.
  • Maintain the ability to sit for long periods of time and to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs. Upper body strength is required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Additional Qualifications

Applicant must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to perform the functions of the position. Previous experience working in a school setting or with children with special needs is required. Strong verbal communication skills, a desire to work in a team setting, a positive attitude, and upper body strength capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs are required. Paraprofessional experience is preferred.

Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required.
