Job Summary: Develop coursework to support effective instruction of students who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) at the school level. Effectively deliver instruction that promotes an exemplary educational program and ensures success for all students.

• Instruct students in small group and one‑on‑one situations (30%)
• Develop, plan, prepare, and implement individualized programs of instruction for students (20%)
• Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, educational sign language interpreters, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes (5%)
• Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction (5%)
• Develop, coordinate, and maintain student intervention schedules, including assignment and scheduling of educational sign language interpreters to ensure FAPE and seamless delivery of services (5%)
• Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity; supervise the behavior and well‑being of students in the classroom and all educational settings (5%)
• Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress (10%)
• Communicate students’ progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and other staff (10%)
• Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions; student and/or family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities (5%)
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested (5%)

• Three (3) years of professional, certified teaching experience
• Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
• CDE Special Education Specialist – Deaf/Hard of Hearing (Ages Birth‑21) endorsement
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment and Microsoft Office
• Intermediate knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and simultaneous communication
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
• Ability to work as a team member and to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to serve as a role model and an innovative and creative learner
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required

• Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds)
• Primarily works indoors with a moderate noise level
• Requires prolonged standing, walking, frequent bending, and reaching
• Occasional lifting, pulling, and pushing
• Requires speaking, hearing, visual concentration, eye/hand coordination, and manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard
• Work location may change to meet organizational needs

• Three (3) years of special education teaching experience
• Experience in the public sector, advising school clubs/co‑curricular activities, and working directly with diverse backgrounds
