Student AVID Tutor
AVID Tutoring opportunities exist at comprehensive middle and high schools in District
6. Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day. D6 Student AVID Tutors serve as guides and facilitators of students' learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. D6 Student AVID Tutors may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutor's availability of open/off blocks.
D6 Student AVID Tutors must be a junior or senior in a District 6 high school and must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application. Complete AVID Tutor Training (4 hours asynchronous).

Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Travel:
