AVID Tutor
Tutoring/Intern opportunities exist at the Family Center, elementary, middle, and high schools in District
6. Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day. Tutors/Interns serve as guides and facilitators of students' learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. Tutors/Interns may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutor's availability.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain consistent schedule throughout the semester with the school(s)
- Provide a positive and encouraging environment for scheduled students
- Maintain an accurate and honest timesheet
- Follow requirements for documenting tutor information for students
Additional Qualifications:
- Applicants should have organizational and record keeping skills, excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage time and meet obligations with minimal supervision.
- Applicants must maintain confidentiality and perform all functions of the position.

Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Travel:
