PurposeYou will support Substation and Transmission projects with focus on electrical protection and control activities for Worley and its Customers as an integral part of the Power Networks team. This includes new substations and switchyards, modifications, additions and upgrades to existing facilities.
Responsibilities- Technical execution of complex protection and control project assignments applied to both brownfield and greenfield Power Networks projects for various clients.
- Expert in designing protection schemes and settings for substations equipment, including bus, line, capacitor, and transformer protection.
- Develop and improve processes for protection and control designs, including one-lines and three-lines, AC/DC schematics, relay panel drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Understanding of SCADA communication design.
- Preparation of specifications and provide procurement support.
- Preparation of engineering drawings and documents, calculations, and other miscellaneous deliverables as required.
- Supervise/coordinate other engineers of equal and lesser experience to successfully deliver a project.
- Complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards, on schedule and within budget.
- Discuss technical problems and communicate effectively with other project personnel and outside customers.
- Perform independent audits and reviews of technical work.
- Perform proposal preparation, proposal estimates, and provide input to scope documents and client presentations.
- Perform the function of a team leader that can solve complex issues and act as a lead engineer responsible for the quality of the deliverables.
- Work in a team-oriented environment with ability to work independently or as part of a group when and as required.
- Interface with outside customers.
- Ability to travel to job sites to perform site walkdown.
- Responsible for the quality assurance of the documents to the applicable drawing standards and responsible for the proper document management procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with project managers, drafters, civil/structural engineers, and field personnel.

RequirementsTechnical and Industry Experience
- Experience with power system modeling and analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, CYME, SKM).
- Extensive experience in protection and control engineering for 69kV and above switchyards and substations.
- Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
- Has a competent understanding of regulations, electrical codes, manufacturing standards and industry standard practices.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, organized, and be able to work independently.
- Ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and written communication skills that permit working efficiently alongside senior substation engineers and designers in a team setting.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 12 or more years of experience in protection and controls including supervisory experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States.
