Senior Manager, Metrology and Data Analytics
This role will report to the Factory Engineering Director and will be based in Fremont, CA
. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.
- Develop and implement the enterprise metrology and data analytics strategy aligned with manufacturing objectives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of metrology engineers, data scientists, analysts, and technicians.
- Establish team goals, KPIs, and training programs to build technical depth and analytical capabilities.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, R&D, IT, and Automation teams to drive integrated data solutions and measurement innovation.
- Own the performance, calibration, capability, and lifecycle management of metrology tools and systems.
- Lead measurement system analysis (MSA), gauge R&R, process capability, and validation activities.
- Implement best practices in precision measurement, statistical validation, and uncertainty analysis.
- Oversee development of analytical models that support process control, root cause analysis, and yield improvement.
- Champion the use of advanced analytics (e.g., multivariate analysis, machine learning, predictive modeling) to enhance decision‑making.
- Ensure data integrity, governance, and standardization across metrology and production systems.
- Partner with IT/Automation to integrate data platforms, visualization tools, and automated reporting capabilities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance measurement capability, reduce variability, and accelerate learning cycles.
- Drive projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical methods to optimize processes and improve yield.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, materials science, data science or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in equipment engineering, maintenance engineering, or manufacturing engineering roles.
- 5+ years of leadership or people‑management experience.
- Strong expertise in measurement systems, statistical analysis, and metrology tools.
- Experience with analytical methods such as regression modeling, SPC, MSA, DOE, and multivariate statistics.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, JMP, MATLAB, Power BI, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional alignment skills.
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at a time.
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directed.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
