Position Overview
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 3 Systems Engineer/Systems Administrator with an active Secret clearance to join the GPS IIR/IIR-M/III On Orbit Services (GPS OOS) team, based at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB). The role involves supporting on-orbit operations, sustaining support systems, labs, and GPS simulators, with occasional travel to Denver, CO and Los Angeles, CA. Occasional off‑shift hours are required to support mission activities.
Responsibilities- Perform system administration tasks such as creation of user accounts, maintain system backups, and provide user support.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers, government customers, and other system personnel to meet mission requirements.
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Perform security scans, artifacts gathering, and support security accreditation events.
- Provide input on studies for enhanced capabilities and proposal efforts.
- Assist in systems/hardware integration, test planning and execution.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Must meet DoD 8570 requirement (current Security+ or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Windows system imaging, patching, network integration, daily monitoring, troubleshooting.
- System security mechanisms (e.g., intrusion detection, ACLs).
- Network LAN/WAN management.
- Planning and executing system integration activities (requirements creation, ICD development, test planning, execution).
- Knowledge and experience in executing system engineering and/or software engineering processes to meet mission requirements.
- Experience with Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware or other virtualization platforms.
- Windows Active Directory management and other Windows services for domains (Group Policy, DNS, etc.).
- Risk Management Framework (RMF)/Information Assurance knowledge.
- Experience creating tools in C/C++, , VBA, MATLAB, or SQL.
- Participation in trade studies or proposal work.
- Ground segment or telemetry monitoring system experience.
- Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and handle multiple roles.
- Systems thinking and ability to apply appropriate skills to solve problems and implement constructive change.

- Competitive pay range: $89,300 – $157,550, depending on location.
Position requires U.S. citizenship for security clearance. The role is onsite full‑time with a 9x80 schedule and flexible work arrangements.
