Cost Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Greeley, Colorado. In this role, you will play a critical part in analyzing and managing financial data related to manufacturing operations, ensuring cost efficiency and accuracy. This position requires an individual with keen attention to detail and a strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Develop and maintain standard cost accounting systems to track production expenses.

- Review and update cost structures to reflect changes in production methods or materials.

- Prepare detailed cost analysis reports to support decision-making processes.

- Collaborate with production and procurement teams to optimize cost efficiency.

- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual costs and budgeted amounts.

- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing expenses.

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

- Provide insights and recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement.

- Support audits and internal reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong understanding of standard cost accounting principles and practices.

- Proficiency in performing cost analysis and variance analysis.

- Familiarity with manufacturing operations and related financial processes.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
