Senior Commercial Lender

A well-established community bank with deep roots in its market is seeking a Senior Commercial & Agricultural Lender to support continued growth and long-term succession planning. This organization is known for relationship-driven banking, local decision-making, and a strong commitment to serving agricultural producers, business owners, and communities throughout its footprint.

This opportunity offers significant autonomy, portfolio ownership, and the ability to drive meaningful loan and deposit growth while serving as a key leader within the market. The bank is seeking an individual with proven agricultural and commercial lending experience, strong business development skills, and the desire to advance into executive leadership. The successful candidate will have a clear pathway to a Market President role within approximately five years.

The Senior Commercial & Agricultural Lender will be responsible for developing new business relationships, managing an existing portfolio, generating loan and deposit growth, and serving as a visible ambassador for the bank throughout the community.

• Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial and agricultural lending relationships
• Originate and structure agricultural, commercial real estate, and commercial & industrial (C&I) loan opportunities
• Generate new loan and deposit relationships through proactive business development efforts
• Build strong relationships with business owners, farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers throughout the market
• Structure and negotiate credit facilities including operating lines, equipment loans, livestock financing, real estate loans, and commercial credit facilities
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow projections, and agricultural operating information to assess credit risk
• Prepare and present loan packages and recommendations to the loan committee
• Monitor portfolio performance to maintain strong asset quality and regulatory compliance
• Cross-sell deposit, treasury management, and other banking services to deepen client relationships
• Represent the bank through community involvement, industry associations, and local business organizations
• Mentor and support junior lenders while contributing to the overall growth and success of the lending team
• Participate in strategic planning and market development initiatives as part of the bank's leadership succession plan

• 5-10+ years of commercial and/or agricultural lending experience within a banking environment
• Proven track record of generating commercial loan and deposit growth
• Strong agricultural lending knowledge, including operating lines, equipment financing, livestock, crop production, and agricultural real estate
• Experience managing complex commercial and agricultural lending relationships
• Strong financial analysis, underwriting, and credit structuring abilities
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and sound lending practices
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated business development success and community involvement
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Agriculture, or a related field preferred

• Established network within the agricultural and business community
• Leadership experience mentoring lenders or managing client portfolios
• Interest in long-term executive leadership and community bank management
• Experience participating in loan committees or strategic planning initiatives
