Senior Analyst, US Public Finance – Housing

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day guidance/coaching to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts, building capability in credit, data discipline, and tooling and reinforcing values-led behaviors.
• Drive consistency/scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption to strengthen trusted, repeatable insights.
• Strengthen AI-enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and proposing lightweight automations that free capacity for human analysis and relationship work.
• Foster continuous improvement by proposing enhancements that remove manual steps without compromising governance or judgement.
• Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases with governance-by-design, controls, and adoption support.
• Lead end-to-end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high-quality analysis and timely delivery across priorities with clear accountability.
• Own surveillance/updates for assigned portfolio, synthesizing performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-useful insights and clear implications for risk.
• Prepare/review inputs, reconcile metrics, document assumptions/changes to ensure adherence to methodologies/standard operating procedures.
• Prepare/review key outputs ensuring clarity and alignment to methodology/sector frameworks and evidentiary standards.

• Experience in affordable housing finance, either in loan underwriting, portfolio management, real estate development, or capital raising.
• Familiarity with affordable housing policies, financing structures, and funding programs, including low-income housing tax credits, housing choice vouchers (Section
  8), and mortgage revenue bond programs.
• Solid foundation in financial statement analysis.
• Ownership/execution maturity across multiple credits; delivers high quality with limited oversight and models values-led behavior.
• Strong collaboration/relationship management; influences through credibility and constructive challenge.
• Coaching capability that improves team consistency through shared standards and tools.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• AI fluency with judgement.
• Strong credit/financial/risk analysis linking drivers to forward-looking views and risk appetite.
• Practical experience embedding AI/LLMs/agents into workflows to improve productivity and insight.

• Strong synthesis into concise narratives for senior stakeholders/committees with transparent evidence.

Demonstrates expertise in affordable housing finance, including loan underwriting and portfolio management, while leveraging AI and automation to enhance productivity and decision-making. Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights for senior stakeholders are essential.
