Volunteer Deputy Probation Officers (DPOs) undergo a three‑day academy covering policy, procedures, legal report writing, and case‑management techniques. After training, DPOs receive a small caseload and prepare legal documents such as complaints, summons/warrants, fee waivers, extensions, and terminations. They observe various case types, populations, court proceedings (including subpoenas and specialty courts), and learn to manage basic probation duties excluding home visits.

Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.
