Salary/Range: A/P/T Range 24, starting at $129,509-$190,258 (based on experience and education)

Education & ExperienceRequired:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Seven years of experience in IT operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Previous experience in a K‑12 or higher education environment is highly preferred.
- A current Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) certification from the Consortium for School Networking (COSN), or the ability to achieve this within one year of employment.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in a technical or management field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or CAPM.
- Technical tracks: CCNP (Cisco), MCSE (Microsoft), or CISSP (Security).
- Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of IT service management and infrastructure best practices.
- Problem Solving: Ability to lead technical teams through complex troubleshooting during system outages.
- Collaborative Leadership: Ability to work across departments (HR, Finance, Curriculum, Facilities, Safety & Security, and Communications) to solve technical hurdles.
- Agility: Capability to pivot quickly between high‑level project meetings and “in the trenches” technical crisis management.
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations and tactical execution of the District's technology services. This role bridges the gap between the CIO's high‑level strategy and the technical implementation performed by IT staff. The Director ensures that the network, server infrastructure, end‑user devices, and software systems are reliable, secure, and optimized to support the District's educational mission and adherence to district policies.
EssentialFunctions Operational Management & Execution
- Translate the CIO’s multi‑year Strategic Technology Plan into actionable projects and daily operational tasks.
- Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of the District’s local and wide‑area networks (LAN/WAN).
- Manage the lifecycle of all hardware, including servers, storage, switches, wireless systems, AV systems, classroom technology, and 1:1 student devices.
- Ensure 99.9% uptime for critical systems, including core network systems, the Student Information System (SIS), Email, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Financial Systems, Emergency Management Systems, and IAM systems.
- Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure high‑quality documentation for all district systems.
- Lead the district’s software review and approval process and reporting.
- Directly supervise and evaluate technical team leads (Networking, Systems, Technology Services).
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely support for teachers and staff.
