Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer – Integration (26-183) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) program is the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively observe the battle as it develops, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.

BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats across all ranges and phases of flight. C2
BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks, integrates, and synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2
BMC is an integral part of all system ground and flight tests that verify and exercise the capabilities of current and future missile defense systems.
Integrate Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) hardware and software into testbeds and operational systems.
Essential Functions:
Conduct comprehensive system checkouts of virtual machines, networks, and message flows
Collaborate with internal and external entities across the Missile Defense System (MDS) to test, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues
Author test plans and procedures
Write Problem Reports to document issues
Provide feedback to Developers
Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files
Perform data analysis of input/output and internal message traffic
Operate and troubleshoot C2
BMC systems during test events and integration activitiesSupport meetings with National Team groups, other MDS elements, and Government customers
Non-standard work hours may be required on occasion, depending on test or fielding schedules
The position is based at Schriever SFB in Colorado Springs, CO, but travel to fielded sites and National Team locations (e.g., Huntsville, HWY
83) may be required
Basic Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a STEM -related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with relevant work experience
