Required Qualifications
- Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting
- Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
- A solid understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF
- Firewall configuration and management experience with Juniper firewalls
- Proven experience with the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls
- Experience with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs
- Understanding of standard DOD security practices such as STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2
BMC) Experimentation Lab (X‑LAB), is engineering, developing, and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies.
Work
As the primary Network Engineer for the C2
BMC Experimentation Lab (X‑Lab) at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC), Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, you will design, build, and deploy sophisticated network architectures that support the C2
BMC X‑Lab Test Program. Working closely with the X‑Lab Events Team, you’ll translate test schedules into actionable network requirements, configure and integrate hardware and software components, and ensure seamless connectivity for each test event. You will be responsible for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the lab’s network infrastructure in both development and operational environments, providing on‑site and remote support to keep experiments on track and secure.
Your expertise will help enable rapid, reliable testing of command‑and‑control capabilities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.
- This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
- This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite.
- This position may involve some travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S. and occasionally support test events that occur off‑hours (overnight or on weekends).
