SQL Database Administrator

We are in search of a Database Administrator to join our team. This role offers a long‑term contract employment opportunity. As a Database Administrator, you will be involved in managing and optimizing our SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance and security, and providing database‑related support to our development and operations teams.

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases and related apps.
• Monitoring and optimization of database performance, including implementing indexing strategies and query optimization.
• Implementation and management of backup and recovery strategies to maintain data integrity and availability.
• Management of database security measures, including user access control and data encryption.
• Diagnosis and resolution of database‑related issues, such as performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems.
• Application of updates and patches to SQL Server instances to ensure their security and up‑to‑date status.
• Creation and maintenance of documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Collaboration with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support application development and system integration.
• Monitoring and forecasting of database capacity requirements to ensure scalability and performance.
• Ensuring databases comply with relevant regulations and standards.

• Must have a strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Must have hands‑on experience with database standards and end‑user applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is required.
• Must have experience in backup technologies to ensure data safety.
• Must have solid technical skills in database administration.
• Must have experience in database tuning to ensure efficient data retrieval.
• Must have skills in SQL performance tuning for optimizing database systems.
• Experience in SQL tuning to improve server performance is essential.
