Junior Email Engineer

• Analyze requirements, concepts of operations, and system architectures to create detailed messaging-infrastructure designs
• Contribute to Microsoft Exchange and Outlook client architectures, retention and archiving strategies, and integration configurations
• Implement PKI and multifactor authentication mechanisms for messaging-service access
• Integrate classification markings, security controls, and audit capabilities into messaging systems
• Design for availability, resiliency, reliability, and message-delivery SLAs
• Implement audit, archiving, retention, automation, and storage policies for email and related content
• Support collaboration workflows including Tableau and Power Apps
• Document, accredit, and authorize systems through the RMF process
• Coordinate storage and data solutions supporting SharePoint-hosted content
• Implement claims-based and PKI-driven authentication with role-based access controls
• Support on-premise, cloud-based, and Microsoft 365 designs, integrations, and deployments
• Provide guidance on SharePoint migration strategies and knowledge-management platforms
• Collaborate with Operations teams and Government stakeholders to refine requirements
• Research design approaches and conduct Analyses of Alternatives, feasibility studies, and proofs of concept
• Incorporate capacity, performance, and service-level metrics into email-service designs
• Produce engineering artifacts, test cases, training materials, CONOPS, and documentation
• Investigate emerging messaging and collaboration technologies and conduct tradeoff analyses
• Use Lab facilities to validate secure email architectures and technology options
• Develop unit and system-level test cases and scripts
• Support transition through acceptance testing, Blue/Green fielding, and early-production rollouts
• Provide advanced troubleshooting, repair, and optimization for messaging components, including VDI integrations
• Develop strategies for planning, vendor evaluation, procurement, implementation, governance, compliance, and risk management
• Support the full engineering-to-operations transition lifecycle

• Must hold a current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start
• DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
• HS and 12+ years of experience, an AA and 10+ years of experience, BS/BA and 8+ years of experience, MS/MA and 6+ years of experience, or PhD and 4+ years of experience
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience designing, integrating, validating, and implementing IT hardware and software solutions
• Willingness to learn new skills and new technologies
• Familiarity with IC ITE services and classified environments
• ITIL 4 Foundation Certification (or higher)

Demonstrates expertise in designing and implementing secure messaging infrastructures, including integration of PKI and multifactor authentication. Proficient in managing collaboration workflows and ensuring compliance with security standards in classified environments.
