Job Overview:
The Vice President of Estimating and Preconstruction will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all estimating and preconstruction activities. This role requires strong leadership to guide a multi-disciplinary team and ensure the successful bidding and contracting of projects across multiple sectors, including Solar PV, BESS, and O&M. The VP will work closely with various departments, clients, and stakeholders to deliver competitive, accurate, and comprehensive proposals that align with company goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team consisting of two intra-departments:
    Direct all Estimating and Preconstruction activities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Estimating and Preconstruction Management:
    Direct all estimating and preconstruction activities for EPC Solar PV power plants, EPC BESS facilities, O&M of renewable energy facilities, and EPC work for refitting and repowering of existing solar PV facilities. Oversee the development of accurate cost estimates, budgets, LNTPs, cash flows, and schedules and proposals from RFP through to contract signing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive and competitive bids, considering all technical, financial, and regulatory aspects.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    Contribute to the company’s strategic planning process, providing insights on market trends, competitive landscape, and potential business opportunities. Develop and implement processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and competitiveness in the estimating and preconstruction functions.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance the company’s reputation and secure new business opportunities. Represent the company in client meetings, negotiations, and industry events, showcasing the company’s capabilities and expertise.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring:
    Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the estimating and preconstruction team, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team on project pipeline, bid status, and departmental performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction within the self-perform EPC industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically in Solar PV, BESS, and O&M projects.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project delivery methods and processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, and familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
