Title Production Supervisor

Reports To Production Manager
General DescriptionSupervise Production and processing activities to ensure all production goals are met: safety, food safety, cost, and yields within their assigned area.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks- Maximize the effectiveness of approximately 80 hourly employees, equipment, and materials to process and package products within planned schedules at a minimum cost.
- Responsible for maintaining excellent quality, sanitation, safety and production standards.
- Train employees on job responsibilities and goals; hold accountable for results.
- Ensure availability of adequate supplies and materials needed to meet and exceed productivity standards.
- Maintain process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to the next shift.
- Drive KPI's set by the company.
- Responsible to work closely with Maintenance on equipment needs to prevent downtime.
- Follow all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position.
- Ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
- CAPA's follow thru and seeing them through completion as required.
- Monitor and drive production efficiency metrics, including Bags Per Minute (BPM) and line throughput, ensuring production lines operate at or above established performance standards.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by reducing downtime, optimizing line performance, and ensuring product quality standards are consistently met.
- Develop and mentor Production Floor Leads, building leadership capability and preparing team members for increased responsibility and advancement within the production organization.
- Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment.
- Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
- Ability to travel.
- Able to occasionally work in a cold environment (35°F on Plant floor).
Ability to work long hours, weekends, second shift, some holidays and rotating schedules if needed.
Experience and EducationRequired:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management preferred or 4 years of supervisory experience.
