Job Overview

As part of this expansion in the US, XNRGY is seeking a qualified and experienced on-site Painter to join the team. Reporting to the Team Lead at the Mesa XNRGY production site, the Painter is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing painting process for custom HVAC systems and components. This role requires advanced expertise in painting techniques, coatings, foam and materials, along with the ability to coach and mentor less experienced painters.

The Painter is responsible for ensuring high-quality finishes, coordinating projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the preparation, painting, foaming and finishing of HVAC systems and components, ensuring high-quality work
  • Design and develop painting systems and procedures for HVAC projects, selecting appropriate coatings for different materials and environments.
  • Coach and mentor Painter 1s and Painter 2s, providing guidance, training, and support to develop their skills.
  • Inspect HVAC components and systems to determine the best approach for painting, including surface preparation, coating selection, and application techniques.
  • Manage and coordinate painting schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects and effective use of resources.
  • Perform complex painting tasks, including intricate detailing, high-durability coatings, and protective finishes.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, ensuring finished surfaces meet aesthetic, functional, and durability requirements.
  • Ensure that all painting work complies with company quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition and performing preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Stay current with new painting technologies, materials, and industry best practices, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Follow instructions and work under the supervision of more experienced painters.
  • Follow lean manufacturing guidelines, providing continuous improvement suggestions for gained efficiency.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced certification in painting, coatings, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in painting, with at least 2–3 years in an experienced painter role.
  • Extensive knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and materials.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality, durable finishes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to pass truck and crane certification with training upon hire.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental controls, and PPE requirements in industrial painting.
Work Environment
  • ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Able to stand; walk; stoop, kneel or crouch, as required.
  • Able to climb portable ladder.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
