Position Summary

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Core Functions
  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history, physicals, diagnostic and laboratory data, and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers.
  • Formulates a plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data, patient/family input, medical plan, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Goals are realistic, measurable, and developed with the patient/family.
  • Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team. Provides care based on orders and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements, and delegates appropriately.
  • Evaluates the patient’s response to care and teaching, revises the plan of care as needed, and collaborates with the team to assess progress toward goals.
  • Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a legible, timely manner that reflects objective/subjective data, interventions, and patient responses.
  • Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities. Participates in shared leadership, education, orientation, and mentoring of staff and others.
  • Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes, participates in quality improvement, and may be involved in professional organizations.
  • In some roles may supervise staff and workflow of the department.
  • Interacts with all levels of staff in various departments, physicians, patients, families, external providers, community agencies, and clergy to provide comprehensive care.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or equivalent compact RN licensure) and BLS certification.
  • Experience in the clinical area for which the nurse is applying; includes at least one year of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting within the past 12 months.
  • Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work, demonstrated through annual validations.
  • For Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions, a minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse in a physician practice or acute care setting.
  • For Home Health positions, possession of a valid driver’s license, ability to operate a personal vehicle, and active auto insurance coverage.
  • Required clearances or cards for behavioral health roles in Arizona as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Professional certification such as CCRN or PPCN.
  • Additional related education or experience in specialty areas.
Pay & Incentives

Estimated pay range: $35.43 – $59.05 per hour. Night and weekend differentials are available, and there is a hiring incentive up to $15,000 and a relocation incentive. The position may involve self‑scheduling two months in advance.
