RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HOSPICE CNA:
Provide personal care to patients including: baths/showers, oral hygiene, grooming etc.
Work as a member of the hospice team to meet each patient’s unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Help patients approach their final days with joy, peace and dignity.
Enhance the quality of someone’s life every day.
Provides patients with personal care as designated in the plan of care; understands Colorado law related to the supervision and delegation process from RN to CNA.Understands general physical symptoms as they relate to end of life and understands non-medical interventions.
Performs transferring and positioning utilizing appropriate equipment per standards of practice and with patient safety as priority; understands good body mechanics and use of safety and transfer devices to prevent injury to self and patient.
Incorporates patient/family preferences and goals within the plan of care.
Supports and respects the patient’s and family’s unique diversity, including spiritual and cultural beliefs.
