Job Description:Evaluates patient’s response to interventions and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection. Promotes, advocates, and collaborates to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient. Provides patient and family education by assessing learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching.
Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs. Develops and implements patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards. Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records and clinical data.
Provides relationship‑based care, engaging patients in all aspects of care with respect for cultural differences and diversity. Delegates tasks to non‑RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy. Manages resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs. Uses standards of care, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice. Participates in unit‑based quality improvement, evidence‑based practice, and research activities.
