Overview
UCHealth seeks a night‑shift Registered Nurse for our Birth Center to deliver advanced, compassionate care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients. In this role, you’ll perform comprehensive maternal‑fetal assessments, manage medications and IV therapies, support labor and delivery, and provide immediate newborn and postpartum care. You will collaborate with physicians, midwives, and an interdisciplinary team in an academic, evidence‑based environment focused on safety, respect, and diversity.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care to birth center patients during night shifts.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret assessments, and respond to changes in condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders and protocols.
- Assist with labor support, deliveries, and immediate newborn care in collaboration with the care team.
- Educate and support patients and families on birth plans, postpartum care, and newborn needs.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care.
- Maintain patient safety standards, infection control practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in unit‑based quality improvement, best‑practice initiatives, and continuing education.
- Support a culture of respect, diversity, and teamwork aligned with UCHealth values.

- Active RN license (state of Colorado or compact).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, or obstetric nursing preferred.
