Location:

Emergency Center - Hospital / Shift: Night (6PM – 6:30AM) / Days:
Fulltime, 36 hours/week with weekend rotations.
Assist registered nurses and physicians in the Emergency Department by preparing patients for exams, stocking supplies, and performing assigned procedures within scope of training.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct EKG testing, wound cleansing, vital sign measurements, monitor lead application, specimen collection, and transport of stable telemetry or non‑monitored patients.
- Perform advanced skills such as blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, saline lock insertion, IV discontinuation, and Foley catheterization under delegation.
- Set up and assist with exams and minor surgical or health procedures: lumbar punctures, suturing lacerations, chest tube insertion, closed fracture reduction, gastric lavage, pelvic examinations, CPR, and restraint application.
- Apply orthopedic devices, including pre‑manufactured and plaster splints under physician direction.
- Collect specimens accurately and perform point‑of‑care testing for glucose, hemoccult, gastroccult, and other assays when permitted by state.
- Communicate patient status changes to RN, physician, or provider; document vital signs, procedures, and equipment used in the patient record.
- Monitor supply levels, report needs, and assist with maintenance of a safe environment; maintain medication room, exam room, bedside carts, and specialty carts.
- Participate in department meetings and educational sessions; assist with orientation and training of new ED technicians.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- EMT‑Basic or higher with state licensure or Certified Nursing Assistant in Colorado.
- Basic computer skills; effective written and verbal communication; strong problem‑solving ability.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Estimated hourly pay range: $17.32 – $25.98. Flat rate $1.50/hour weekend shift differential and $5.00/hour night shift differential when applicable.
