- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care
- Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
- Review patient histories, diagnostics, laboratory data, and abnormal results
- Formulate and revise individualized plans of care and discharge plans
- Provide direct patient care and coordinate, delegate, and supervise healthcare team activities
- Provide care according to physician orders, nursing plans, policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and physician orders accurately and timely
- Provide evidence-based care and participate in research, shared leadership, education, orientation, precepting, and mentoring
- Collaborate with staff, physicians, patients, families, external healthcare contacts, community providers, agencies, and clergy
- Float to Med Surg units as needed and support inpatient units across Banner hospitals
- Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice
- BLS certification required
- Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice
- Experience, training, and education needed to perform the job
- Clinical performance competencies appropriate to the work area, maintained through annual validations
- Experience in the clinical area is desired
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Professional certification preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
Demonstrates expertise in patient assessment, care planning, and evidence-based nursing practices while effectively collaborating with healthcare teams and providing direct patient care. Holds a valid RN license and BLS certification, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
