OVERVIEW
Target Salary Range = Up to $60,000 (depending on experience). The Quality Assurance Coordinator role will play a critical part in maintaining our commitment to quality and compliance by ensuring all documentation and processes are audit-ready. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to uphold food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare and maintain all quality assurance documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Coordinate and support external audits by ensuring documentation, records, and processes are readily available and accurate.
- Conduct regular internal audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with production, quality control, and supply chain teams to address and resolve quality‑related issues.
- Monitor and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect current practices and regulatory requirements.
- Track and report key quality metrics to management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and non‑conformances, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
- Stay up‑to‑date with industry regulations, food safety standards, and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Train and support team members on quality assurance processes, documentation requirements, and audit readiness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a food manufacturing or similar regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, FSMA, and ISO 22000.
- Experience preparing for and supporting external audits (e.g., FDA, USDA, third‑party audits).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in documentation and record‑keeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quality management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to analyze data and implement effective solutions.
- Certification in food safety (e.g., PCQI, SQF Practitioner) is a plus.
